Welcome to Buxton Jazz.<\/strong> We present a high standard in all styles of live, jazz-influenced music, including Bebop, Cool, Gypsy, Latin, Mainstream, New Orleans, Funk, Blues<\/strong> and more. Our events are usually on the third Wednesday of the month, from March until November<\/strong>. We’re on the first floor of The Old Club House<\/strong> \u2013 upstairs from the main entrance on Water Street, just across from Buxton Opera House. There’s also another entrance on St John’s Road that benefits from easier access with only a couple of steps straight into the venue. Help can be provided with access for those who might benefit from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talented trio of Thomas ‘Spats’ Langham, with guitarist\/clarinetist Danny Blythe and Malcolm Sked on double bass, have a broad repertoire of jazz and blues to call upon. Inspirations include some of the great jazz and blues guitarists of the 20s and 30s. Skilled multi-instrumentalists, this trio deliver a highly entertaining and informative evening of great music. This welcome return follows their sold out concert for us at High Peak Bookstore and Caf\u00e9 last December.
Jo Grace & Friends starts at 7.30pm, with the Spats Langham Trio beginning at 8.15pm(ish). Tickets available online, also some door tickets should be available. I say ‘should’ because we’re just over two weeks before the event as I’m writing this and tickets have been selling fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support for this evening is provided by Jo Grace and Friends. Jo Grace is the vocalist, the friends are Andy Lawrence on sax, John Maltby on drums and Lloyd Rhodes on keyboard. The band is newly formed out of Buxton Jazz Open Mic evenings, which are held on the first Wednesday of the month, downstairs at The Old Club House.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
